THE ABSTRACT

Pot life and specific power consumption in many respects depend of a construction and technological parameters cathode blocks.

The two-dimensional mechanical model cathode blocks were applied to the analysis of stress-strain behaviour. The task about plane thermo restoring deformation of the vertical cross-section of the block, orthogonal to a rod was surveyed. For realization of the comparative analysis of the cathode blocks intense state were surveyed of cathode section with the various of rods configuration.

Outgoing from the analysis of the intense state of cathode blocks, it is possible to assert, that cathode blocks with section 550x420 mm and rods with section 150x150 mm allow to create conditions for increase of life expectancy of cathode devices aluminium cells.
