A CATHODE OF ALUMINIUM POT, including a metallic cathode shell, a heat insulating and refractory lining, a bottom, made of bottom blocks with current conductive cathode rods, a side lining, having layers with different heat conductivity, and periphery seams between blocks, wherein the side lining is put on supporting elements, stiffly connected with cathode shell.

2. The cathode according to claim 1, wherein the length of supporting elements is not continuous, there are breaks.

3. The cathode according to claim 1, wherein between the side lining and supporting elements there is a layer of compressed material.

4. The cathode according to claim 1, wherein the supporting elements are protected with refractory material.
