THE ABSTRACT

The experience of commercial operation of 2000 electrolytic cells with prebaked anodes shows, that cathode device with cradle and rib shells should have the different constructive decisions, used different materials, should have differences in baking and setting operation technology.

Service life of rib electrolytic cells more than 70 months can be supplied at use of steel bars with section 180x150 mm closing up by coal paste, continuous cathode block assemble, concrete edge, dry barrier mix, use in a socle high-silicon and high-alumina fire-resistant materials, low solidification ramming mix and application of baking gas technology.
